The two-stage pepper mechanism first cracks the peppercorns and then grinds them, ensuring the most flavor and aroma is released from the pepper. The salt mill mechanism is constructed of case-hardened steel, making it virtually indestructible.

The mechanism is fully adjustable, producing grinds ranging from very coarse to powdery. The mill body is made of beechwood and the set is manufactured in France.

To maintain the mills, users should wipe them with a soft cloth. The set includes a salt mill in a natural color and a pepper mill in a chocolate color.
