The Salt Crushing Mechanism features two ribbed plates that work to fracture and crush coarse, dry sea salt, while the Spice Mechanism, made of ceramic, is designed to grind dried spices and flat leafy herbs. The Chili Pepper Mechanism, made of case-hardened steel, features a pre-cutting system and dual chamber reservoir, and the Nutmeg Shaving Mechanism, made of treated stainless steel, offers a double stainless steel grater blade and a strong claw for safely shaving whole nutmeg nuts. The Wet Salt mechanism, made of ceramic, has been specially designed for use with damp sea salts.

The Coffee Grinding Mechanism found in all Peugeot coffee mills is the foundation of Peugeot's grinding legacy, efficiently cracking and grinding coffee beans to the desired consistency. To adjust the grind on manual mills, turn the adjustment nut located on the top of the mill, while electric mills permit single-handed use with a thumbwheel grind adjustment.
